This boat has been in the family since the 90s. It was operational before being put into storage. We ran it on Lake St. Clair downstate and up here on Mullett.
It needs some cosmetic TLC, but is structurally sound and is all original. Good project if you want to get into a minor restoration on a small boat that you can do in your garage. For those unfamiliar with old wood boats, that means it will need to be sanded down and a few coats of varnish. A fresh coat of bottom paint. Hooking up the cables to the outboard and whatever tuning is needed to get the outboard running. If you’re looking for a boat in showroom condition, it won’t be for sale at this price. You can look up the same boat on the Internet after it’s been refurbed and they’re selling for $9-$12k.
Cash, firm.
The trailer is old. I towed it up here from downstate but that was about 10 years ago and it hasn’t moved since. The most important thing is not too fast on the highway. Probably grease the hubs. Selling both together (with motor) as-is.
Trailer:
- Both tires took air and are holding. Tire and wheel info is copied in with the pics. Newer tire on 5-lug wheel is 4.80/4.00-8. Tire on older wheel is 4.80-8. They should be equivalent.
- Both tail light/blinkers are working but right light does not have the red plastic lens/cover.
- I believe I have all the pieces to the hitch locking mechanism, but it’s disassembled and off hand I didn’t remember how it went back together. I’m assuming it’s 1-7/8” receiver but you might want to bring 2” just in case.
This was originally my brother‘s boat, then my dad’s. I don’t have any other information. Looking for a title but haven’t found it yet. Michigan sos will have registration records in either my brother's or my dad’s name. I did find a registration tab for the trailer. For a boat of this size a title is not required, you just need to register it with the signed bill of sale.
This is a vacation home for us, so we would need some time to plan your viewing/pick up. South end of Cheboygan. Our next trip is july 6 - 11.
To secure the boat, pre-pay in full either by Venmo or Zelle. Or we can set up an appointment, first come first served. Once the boat is paid for there is some flexibility if you need more time to pick it up at a different date.
There is a lot of spam and phishing on this website, so I cannot reply to every “is this still available?” inquiry or anything other than an offer to purchase and options for the pick up date. If the ad is active then the item is for sale.
