This is the JHS reissue of the legendary Ross Compressor pedal. The original Ross was one of the finest compression pedals ever created for guitarists. It was a huge part of Trey Anastasio's sound in the early days of Phish. The simple 2-knob layout makes it easy to dial in the perfect amount of juicy compression and sustain.
Here's a rundown of those controls:
• SUSTAIN: This knob adjusts the amount of compression. Keep it low to add a little sparkly spank to your tone. Or turn it up to give your playing that classic squish and thick sustain.
• LEVEL: This is the output volume of the pedal. Once you've set the amount of SUSTAIN that you like, you can adjust the LEVEL to unity gain. Or you can crank up the LEVEL and use the pedal as a boost.
• VINTAGE/BRIGHT: This button on the side of the pedal toggles between the vintage Ross circuit, and a new mode that introduces more treble and upper midrange, giving your tone more cut in a live mix.
This Ross Compressor reissue is in mint condition. The electronics work perfectly. The pots, jacks and switches are clean and quiet. It will come in the original box. You can power this compressor with a Boss PSA-style 9-volt AC/DC adapter, or with your standard 9-volt pedalboard power supply.
