Condition: Excellent, guitar and case show slight signs of use that only show up close, I have enjoyed playing this beautiful guitar.
Full Setup: Neck is straight though may fluctuate in transit. Fretboard is treated. Fret ends filed, frets are leveled, crowned, hand-polished, then buffed to a chrome-like finish to minimize fret wear. Intonation set.
All screws torqued. Strung up with Stringjoy 10 - 46 Naturals.
The new UpTown Kat ES Collection is the next generation of Epiphone’s classic “Kat” archtop featuring a true ES style semi-hollowbody archtop with newly designed Epiphone ProBucker FB720 mini humbuckers, GraphTech nut, Ebony fingerboard, and Grover Rotomatic tuners.
New Kat in Town:
The UpTown Kat ES Collection is the next generation of Epiphone’s critically acclaimed ES-style archtop featuring a 5-ply Maple & Poplar bent rims, pressed top and back with a Spruce center block and 5-ply white and black binding on the front and back. The Mahogany neck has an Ebony fingerboard with a rounded “C” profile, pearloid “block” inlays, a 24.75” scale length, 22 medium wide frets, 12” radius, and a 1.68” GraphTech nut. The headstock features Epiphone’s historic “badge” logo used briefly in the early 60s and the orange f-hole label is also modeled after vintage Epi labels from the 60s.
Epiphone Mini-ProBucker FB720:
The Uptown Kat ES Collection is powered by the ProBucker FB720 pickups, the same mini-humbucker used in the Ltd. Ed. Joe Bonamassa “Treasure” Firebird and reconstructed to the original specifications of the Gibson Firebird pickups from the mid 60s. Accept no substitutes! The ProBucker FB720 has two Alnico II bar magnets used as blades in the coils along with a steel reflector plate to achieve the classic Firebird tone of the 60s. Because the DC resistance is around 7.85Kohm, the ProBucker FB720 mini humbucker provides a clean, bright output with incredible touch sensitivity and a warm low end compared to a standard mini humbuckers. Controls include gold speed knobs with volume control for each pickup, a master volume control, and a master tone control.
