Poncho is a 11 year old pony cross gelding. He is a black / white paint. He stands 13’2 hands tall / 54 inches.
Poncho is a SUPER broke dude! We drove all the way to Louisiana to pick him up and bring him to MI because we couldn't find a truly nice horse for our daughter around here. He ended up being everything we were promised and our daughter rode him in the youth teaching rodeo barrels and poles, but she is just not into horses like we thought she would be. Someone is going to be very lucky as he is such a kind, but fun horse. He loves to "GO" and is very quick, but is such a good boy to "WHOA" for a learning rider. We have tons of video and would love to show serious buyers how amazing he is.
He will lope right out of his tracks literally. He will one hand neck rein very easy. He has a smooth trot and catches his leads on command. Poncho will pick you up on the fence, step, trailer you name it and he will pick you up to get on. He will stand for you to get on. I’ve used poncho around here pushing calves. I’ve drug feed bunks / fence post from the saddle horn with no problem.
He will ride alone or in a group with no issues. He will cross water, logs, mattresses etc…with ease.
I have rode Poncho at the state park several times. He loves the woods and trails. He will walk all day no prancing and no silliness. He will climb a steep hill very easily. I have rode poncho in town. He is traffic safe and not scared of a play ground or a bridge. Poncho is dog friendly and safe with them. He is very easy to saddle , bridle, wash ,load in a trailer etc…
Poncho is very youth suitable. He is very easy to catch. He has NO bad habits, health problems or issues. He is sure footed and is barefoot (no shoes ). He is shoer friendly and easy to pick up feet. If you are looking for a step up horse for a kid or one to just enjoy riding check out poncho.
